The Ellis Outdoor Furniture collection is engineered to endure the demanding Australian outdoor climate. To maximise the longevity of your furniture, it is advisable to store items under cover whenever possible, particularly to shield them from prolonged exposure to intense sunlight.
Extending the lifespan of your furniture can be achieved by minimising its direct exposure to harmful UV rays, inclement weather, and extreme heat. If storage is not practical, utilising durable furniture covers is highly recommended.
Care Instructions.
Cushion Fabric/Upholstery:
All fabrics, including those designed for outdoor use, will fade with sun exposure. To maintain their appearance, store cushions indoors or protect them with waterproof covers when not in use. For routine maintenance, vacuum or brush lightly to remove debris. Spot clean light stains with a mild detergent solution, rinse thoroughly, and allow cushions to air dry standing on end. Use approved commercial outdoor cleaners for stubborn stains or mildew, ensuring the entire surface is treated to prevent water rings.
Rope Wicker:
Clean rope elements with a microfibre cloth and water. Do not use brushes to avoid fraying. Wash-and-wax car polish may also be used if required.
Timbers:
Timber furniture will naturally expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity, which may result in splitting or colour fading; this is a natural characteristic, not a defect. To prolong timber life, utilise protective covers or store furniture out of the elements during long periods of non-use. Regularly clean and treat timber with approved oils to preserve finish and structural integrity, enhancing resistance to water, scratches, stains, and general weathering. For cleaning, scrub the surface gently with a soft-bristled brush and a bleach-water solution, then dry promptly with clean towels.
